About the Bering Sea Research Center

Connect with us
The Bering Sea Research Center (BSRC) is a permanent, on‑island home for community‑driven marine and environmental research on St. Paul Island. Created through collaboration between local leadership, Tribal organizations, and research partners, the Center offers the infrastructure needed to support sustained, high‑impact science in one of the world’s most dynamic marine ecosystems.
Today, BSRC is a working hub where researchers and the community design and carry out projects together—advancing knowledge of the Bering Sea while centering local priorities, centering Indigenous knowledge, and delivering lasting benefits to the region.
